ALL INDIA MSME WORLD EXPO 2018 – MSME World

The All India Micro Small and Medium Enterprises World Expo 2018 (AIMWE) is all set to launch its expo and conference to promote, launch and identify dealers and franchisees.This business to business and business to consumer expo will be held in Hyderabad, Telangana on 27 January and 28 January 2018.

AIMWE is a multi sectorial event which provides an ideal platform for companies and entrepreneurs to display their products, meet like minded people and create new trading relationships. This year, the main objective of the expo is to maximize trade and market shares and provide businesses the opportunity to connect with consumers. The conference also aims to create a hub for all issues related to the industry.

The eighth edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 is all set to take place on 28 November 2017 in Hyderabad. This three day summit will also see Ivanka Trump leading the United States delegation.

Hosted by the United States of America along with the Republic of India, the summit has been flooded with applications. Around 44,000 Indian entrepreneurs applied to participate in the summit that currently has only 400 available slots. 800 slots have been allotted for entrepreneurs from USA and around the world. Close to 74 entrepreneurs from Telangana have been selected for the summit.

Highlighting the theme Women First, Prosperity for All, this year’s summit will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally. First conceived by former US President Barack Obama, GES aims at creating an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level.

The summit will also hold sessions, master classes and workshops by global experts along with networking events and keynote speeches from prominent entrepreneurs. According to the official website, GES 2017 will present a unique opportunity to connect and establish meaningful partnerships amongst entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters. In an attempt to inspire the culture of entrepreneurship, the summit also launched the ‘Road to GES’ initiative which aims to build and engage entrepreneurs through events from September to November and beyond.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a meeting in the Philippines said the GES would help in “showcasing innovation and collaboration between India and the United States.” With a bilateral trade of about $ 115 billion, India is already a major market for the United States. The summit aims at strengthening this relationship while encouraging innovation and collaboration, with a special focus on emerging nations from Africa and Asia.

With just ten days to go for the Summit, police officials in Hyderabad are on high alert. Special security measures and arrangements have been made in anticipation of Ivanka Trump’s visit to the city. According to media reports, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Special Protection Group high officials also visited Hyderabad to observe the security arrangements.

Andhra Pradesh Government Flags Off The Blockchain Business Conference

The Andhra Pradesh Government, in a bid to make Vishakhapatnam the blockchain capital of India, launched the Blockchain Business Conference yesterday. This flagship initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh marks the second leg of the Fintech Valley Vizag initiative that was started in March 2017, with the Fintech Spring Conference.

The two day conference will explore blockchain technologies, its applications and how it will impact the financial services industry. Regional and international experts, startups, corporates, regulators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and academics will be participating in this event. More than 50 startups from across the world will be showcasing their products and solutions in the fintech and blockchain domains.

Speaking at the conference, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu said, “I want to make Visakhapatnam not only India’s capital for fintech or blockchain technologies, it will be a center of excellence for the global community.

ICICI Bank and Mahindra Finance also inaugurated two new accelerator programs at the conference which will mentor and finance 30 startup companies and help them in solving problems. The Government is also looking to triple the size of their Rs. 100 crores angel fund by bringing in co investors and domestic institutions. A Rs. 500 crores fintech fund will also be set up, which will function separately from the innovation focused angel fund. With a target to engage with 50 startups this fiscal year, the fintech fund will receive Rs. 100 crores from the government and the remaining amount will be raised from co investors such as the Small Industries Development Bank of India.

Along with the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh Nara, the IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Gulshan Rai, the Special Secretary of Cybersecurity and Prime Minister’s Advisory, Mr. Ravi Menon were the other keynote speakers at the event. Speaking about the disruptive blockchain technology, Lokesh Nara said Andhra Pradesh was the first state to use blockchain pilots and the technology has also been already taken up by the IT sector.
