“If you build it, they will come.” Uh-ha! This line may have worked fine for Kevin Costner in the Field of Dreams but doesn’t work for businesses. If you build it, you have to show up in Search, and then maybe they will come!

That’s what Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is all about – making your business found in the search queries of your customers looking for the products and services you are offering. SEO is an always changing and rising industry. According to MediaPost, in the previous year it was predicted that businesses invested more than 65 billion dollars on SEO services, and that figure is projected to go over 70 billion dollars by this year. Budget aside, let’s take a look at how things might change in the future of SEO.

Voice search will only become more popular
Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana have all taken much limelight this year and voice searches have become quite prominent in daily life. As per Google, 1 in 5 mobile search queries now comes from voice search. As typed out search terms have started getting less prevalent over the time, smart marketers have already started developing ways to modify their SEO strategies for voice search.

Some points to consider:
1. Focus on answering questions
2. Design your web pages with the question as the heading and answer just beneath it
3. Target long tail keywords
4. Optimize your website for mobile.
5. Featured snippets is going to grow
6. As the percentage of voice searches grow, an increase in featured snippets can be seen, from which Google sources its voice search results.

Featured snippets are coming up for around 30% of the 1.4 million queries according to SearchEngineLand.com. If this trend continues, featured snippets may come up to the top of the organic listing as the place where you want your business to get noticed. Several featured snippets come from searches in the form of questions. If you are looking for your new content to rank high enough for a snippet, focus on writing content with long tail keywords.

Artificial intelligence (AI) will power the next wave of search
AI was a hot topic last year. Google’s pushing to use AI with its machine learning system RankBrain which helps better understand and process search results. It is considered the third most important ranking factor after links and content.

RankBrain runs tests on Google’s algorithm to try improving the UX for people, based on user experience indicators like click through rate (CTR,) bounce rate and time spent on websites. In AI, Google’s interest spreads much further than RankBrain. It has developed the Cloud Vision API, which can classify images into thousands of categories, recognize individual objects within images, and reads printed words within them.

Go mobile first to make your mark
The way you and I search, interact, engage and buy has evolved. Mobile has become the major device for accessing online content, and it’s share in online searches will continue to grow year on year. A recent report from comstore found that the percentage of mobile share in the total minutes spent online is much more than desktop.

Very clearly, mobile friendly content is important. But users are not looking for something that just looks nice on mobile devices — they are also looking for speed. Google is considering this shift in user behavior seriously with mobile first indexing. In simple terms, it means Google will build and rank its search listings based on the mobile version of the content, even for listings that are shown to desktop users. Websites that fail to deliver speedy and mobile friendly content may soon become obsolete.
Website load speed should be lightning fast
Google’s research shows that 53 % of people will leave a site that fails to load in 3 seconds or less. Realize how important website speed is?

The faster the speed of your website, the happier your visitors will be. Optimizing load performance leads to visible improvements in customer experience, conversion rates, and ultimately, your sales. Here are some of the important numbers to look, which shows when your site loads fast, you stand a better chance of retaining viewers.
Remember, search engines take website’s speed seriously, and so should you.
Ensure security seriously with HTTPS
Some years back, HTTPS was only a trivial ranking signal that wasn’t making a big difference to the overall rankings. But recently, Google started sending out warnings to the users of insecure sites, with the goal of persuading more websites to upgrade to HTTPS. And, the impact on rankings has gone bigger over time with more and more numbers of HTTPS sites ranking in the top 5 positions.

The above graph shows 25 – 30 % of the top three search results have HTTP domains. Not to mention that Google has been considering HTTPS as a factor for ranking higher from a few years. Now, with its recent warnings and security push, it is expected to become more important in the future.
What you can do for your website:
1. Install an SSL certificate on your server
2. Migrate by redirecting HTTP URLs to HTTPS

Conclusion
The world of search marketing evolves very rapidly. To stay ahead and remain relevant in the search results, you’ve got to keep shifting your SEO strategies adapting with the changing digital marketing environment. A smart and reliable SEO services agency can help you adapt the trends and tune your content marketing, web design, search engine and social media marketing techniques.

Now it’s time for you to share your thoughts! Which of these predictions do you feel is going to affect you most likely? What predictions do you think have been missed in the article?

How To Win An Argument Without Fighting

How To Win An Argument Without Fighting,Best Motivational Stories 2018,Latest Startup News India, startup stories,How to Win a Debate,How to Win Every Argument,4 Ways to Win Any Argument,How to Argue Without Fighting,Tips to Win a Debate Without Fighting

Arguments are never fun. Whether it is with a loved one, a colleague or even someone you do not like, resolving conflicts is not an easy task. More often than not, in the heat of the moment, one tends to say things one regrets and the situation turns sour. If you find yourself in the throes of a really bad fight, then here are some ways you could win an argument without fighting!

1. Keep your emotions in check

Contrary to popular belief, staying calm and collected is not a sign of weakness. How many times have you felt really riled up in the middle of an argument? Where you get so passionate about the topic, you forget why you are actually arguing. The more you lose your cool, the more you antagonize your opponent, a move which is not a healthy solution for either of you!

2. Know all your facts

Before getting into an argument, ALWAYS know your facts. Incorrect information weakens your points and puts you at the losing end of the argument. Another important point to note here is to never bring up old conversations or fights. This makes you look like a grudge holder and no one wants that, right? There was this one dude at work who kept bringing up things from donkeys years ago and half way through the argument, everyone would just get up and walk off. Why? Because the environment would turn ugly and that was not appreciated even a little bit.

3. Respect and understand all points of view

One of the best ways to keep an argument at a decent tone of calm level is by understanding everyone’s perspective. Be as kind as possible, without sounding negative or condescending. I would make that mistake all the time and more often than not, I would be the one losing out at the end of the “discussion.” Tough life lesson learnt right there!

4. Avoid exaggerations

No. Exaggerations really do not work. Words like “always,” “everybody” and “never” have a negative connotation, rather than a positive one. They make your point unbelievable, while also angering with whomever you are speaking with. That is never worth the pain and effort.

Winning an argument is never about the person with whom you are arguing. If your goal is to resolve the conflict, then get your points across, with the bigger picture in mind!

How To Structure Your Priorities

How To Structure Your Priorities,Startup Stories,Startup News India,Best Motivational Stories 2018,How to Prioritize tasks at Work,How to Balance Your Priorities,Prioritisation Method,Brian Tracy,Crazy Busy Work Life Priorities,Set Your Top Priorities

At work, everything is at a high priority, how do you then structure your list of priorities with everything you need to accomplish. Knowing how to structure your priorities, is a key skill to have. To hit deadlines, you need to follow these steps and make your life easier, for you and your colleagues.

Write a to do list

Even though, you know everything you need to get done, it is best if you jot down everything with the deadline date. Do not worry about the order, just brain dump, small tasks as well as big tasks on to the list. From walking the dogs to finishing up a work related document that is due in two hours.

Identify what is urgent

After writing everything down, look at the things needed to be done the quickest, the work, if not done as soon as possible can have negative consequences. That work related document which is now due in an hour and fifty minutes.

Assess value

Look at the leftover tasks, and identify tasks adding the most value to the company upon completion. You should be able to recognize what tasks provide you or your organisation with the most value. If there is cooking food on your list, it would be helpful to do that before embarking to do everything else on an empty stomach.

Rearrange the tasks

After identifying the work needed to be done first and the work garnering the most value when completed. It is time to rearrange the tasks requiring the most effort. The easiest way to do this is by employing a prioritisation method by Brian Tracy. It focuses on your feelings towards the task.

In the words of Mark Twain, if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing it is probably the worst thing going to happen to you all day long. With this ideology in mind, get the worst task done first.

  1. Things you do not want to do and you do not need to do.
  2. Things you do not want to do but actually, need to do.
  3. Things you want to do and actually need to do.
  4. Things you want to do and do not need to do.

Remember you only have twenty four hours in a day, make sure you do not bite off more than you can chew.
